It was a life-changing experience for budding enthusiasts like me & Aviral, while a mind-boggling one for experienced clickers viz Jackson V George, Ruchi Sachdeva & Ashish Rawat. It all started from an online Facebook event page where we all met & realized the need for a visit to Photofair 2011.
The event was organized by All India Photographic Trade & Industry Association (AIPTIA) in association with India’s elite photography magazines like Asian Photography, Better Photography & Smart Photography. The event was supposed to be an immense platform for companies into Digital Photo Imaging, Video Products, Multi Media & Post Production Services and Photographic Products, to showcase their product range to the Indian photography fraternity & a wide exposure for Photography enthusiasts & experts from all over India.
Jackson sported his Canon EOS 400D while Ashish flaunted his photographic skills with his Nikon D3000. Ruchi missed her 500D, for she couldn’t bring it on for the exhibition. As far as I & Aviral go, we were there to learn a thing or two about photography. It was an amazing time spent checking out the coolest & most sophisticated DLSR Cameras & Imaging Devices, collecting pamphlets that carried various specs of the eye-candy equipments & chilling out at foot-hills of Pragati Maidan’s deserted pavilions. The market giants in Photographic forte like Canon, Nikon, Olympus, Fujifilm showcased the latest series of equipments.

The above photograph was clicked my Ashish while we posed for him as well as the Olympus guys.
It was a long day. We were exhausted & couldn’t hold on to our zeal more. Aviral & I hopped on to the not-so-funky Burgers while Ruchi settled for some Grilled sandwich. Others were ambitious enough to walk upto the Bengali market, CP. On the course, we gulped down some delicacies & enjoyed the street food as well. Photography lessons were on for the entire time, coming from the clicking pros. Now I feel like getting on the track & trying a stint with photography in the near future.
It was fun to meet like-minded people. From out-of-the-pocket expenses on eatables, selling brown sugar on streets, hopping onto some Chinese street food & sharing talkies related to photography & chocolate fudge, oops, spare that one, to a successful visit to Photofair, it all looked framed tight.
Thanks Jackson, Aviral, Ruchi, Ashish & Mamta for the wonderful day.
Live in peace,
